Does Air Change make Air Conditioners as well as Ventilation equipment?
For an individual classroom, Air Change supplies the energy recovery ventilators only as we do not make small high wall split units. Any reliable high wall split, in-ceiling or under-ceiling air conditioning unit will work with the Air Change Energy Recovery Ventilator. Your local installation contractor will know which brand has a good service back up in your region.
For larger applications such as school halls, auditoriums, gymnasiums, laboratories, offices, and indoor swimming pools, Air Change makes a wide range of units that are “packaged” with ventilation and air conditioning all in the one unit. We also make Air Handling Units matched to chillers or chilled beams for multi story applications. For larger projects, a consulting engineer or design and construct firm would be need to design the air conditioning requirements.

How do I choose an air conditioning installation firm?
We can help with contacts to a local firm close to your school. It is important to remember your installation needs to be executed by a licensed air conditioning company that is able to provide a proper heat load estimation for the classrooms. This makes sure the school is only paying for the exact amount of air conditioning required.

| Need design assistance for larger projects? |
For multi classroom installations or large projects, we would recommend the appointment of a consultant engineer or design construct firm to design, provide indicative costs for the project, write a specification and call for tenders from installation contractors. We can assist with contacts to engineers in your regions familiar with the requirements of schools.

| How easy is it to install the wall mounted or In Ceiling Energy Recovery Ventilator? |
The Wall mounted ERV unit is easily installed through a wall or a window and comes apart in three easy sections for a one man installation job. It is low maintenance, with easy cleanable filters accessed from inside the room, making dusty areas no problem.
The In-Ceiling ERV is installed in the ceiling spaces, and fans and filters accessed from below in the room for easy servicing. This is a slightly more expensive installation procedure, used when the school needs extreme quietness, with air noise less than 40 dba for the 300 l/s model suitable for most classrooms.
